does this really need to be said?

Dear Neighbors,

Do not, I mean it, do not, smoke anything in the stairway of our happy little apartment cluster. Especially big smelly smokey things like CIGARS. It comes upstairs, sneaks under my door, and makes my sweater smell of a powerful funk. I do not care that it is raining, I do not care that you are not allowed to smoke in your flat. Expect some anger if this keeps up.

Kindly,
Mme B.

(!) yuk!!! I hope they stop! Isn't there anything that the owner of the building willing to do something? That's a horrible thing to have to put up with. (yes, John and I smoke ... but not in our house and CERTAINLY not cigars!)

Take pictures and send to the apartment owners with the cleaning bill.

Cause what? You're so addicted to cigars you need your fix quick before the rain stops?

Our neighbor's graqndson occassionally smokes a cigar on the porch in the summer. Fortunately for us his cigars have a nice fragrance. Since we don't turn ont he air conditioning expect for 100 degree days, it doesn't have to creep in through the door. It comes in through the window.

Now- I could do without the midnight - 2 am door poundings that go something like this:
four super knocks "Gramma!" . . .
four super knocks "Let me in Gram mah!" . . .
four super knocks "I Love you Gram mah!"

Hahahaha! Rae, that is really hysterical. :) We get 2 am poundings on occassion, but nothing so fantastic as that.

Well, we'll have new neighbors soon enough. And we are hopeful- it was actually in the lease we signed that the neighbors have permision to do some gardening in the front. . .That's a good indicator for nice if not normal:)
