makes tears happy

From Kahlil Gibran's The Prophet:

"For what is it to die but to stand naked in the wind and to melt into the sun?
And what is to cease breathing, but to free the breath from its restless tides, that it may rise and expand and seek God unencumbered?
Only when you drink form the river of silence shall you indeed sing.
And when you have reached the mountain top, then you shall begin to climb.
And when the earth shall claim your limbs, then shall you truly dance."

"When you are sorrowful look again in your heart, and you shall see that in truth you are weeping for that which has been your delight."

It's been a rough day here - alone and away from everyone that I want to be near. Fortunately, even rough days come to an end, and even rough days have a friend somewhere that will drink tea and listen to me prattle for just long enough to keep me together.

This is beautiful. I think it should be read at the funeral. Not necessarily by you or me, but I think Maman would approve. :-)

Lucie! I have been thinking about you every time I drive past your old house on King Memorial. I remember when I saw the for sale sign and kept wanting to find you. Today I set up an interview with work for a girl named Kristen Briggs and I got so excited - only to find out that it wasn't you. So I decided to look for you. :) And here you are.

Please send me an email sometime. I'd love to see how you are (and even though it's been almost 5 years [5 years!! Wow!] since we've talked, I'm sorry about your recent loss). My email is rayslizzy@yahoo.com

A bientot!
