Lessons for the Beginning Frugal Knitter

Lesson #1:

When purchasing wool at a thrift store, do not, I repeat, DO NOT begin that most anticipated project with your wool unless you know one of two things:

1. That you have enough wool

2. That you can purchase more.

Isn't it just fabulous? Updates to come on whether or not I can actually create the one-skein wonder of the discontinued color.

I know you are not alone in this department of knitting wonders. Skein stretching is a perfectly normal part of the knitting phenomenon known as blending of different yarns to make do. Ask any of your knitting cohorts.
Still, as knitters go, one must try to make the pattern with what one has several times before knowing one cannot possibly finish with what one has.
