Some things never change

I knew it would happen. I knew I would do it. It was unavoidable from the beginning. It was just a matter of time.

I locked myself out of the flat today with Gina.

We went to yoga and I left my keys under my part for Dvorak's New World Symphony. Uhh... So while we were sitting there, locked out, waiting in front of the door, I decided that I needed to eat a mango. And I did. Everyone who walked past (5-10 people in the course of my mango) kept smiling and being incredibly pleased with this situation. Gina commented that I was kinda cute sitting there with my mango, attempting to explain their reactions to me. We realized the cause of their mirth when one of the men who had previously walked past asked how I managed to wash up when I was locked out. Translation: they loved that the white girl was going to pay for her indulgence and enjoyment with sticky hands and face until she was able to get in her flat. Hm. Luckily, a woman from the flat above us walked past, inquiring if we were locked out. Upon realizing our situation, she told us that she had a spare key! So, we were let in, and this is why I'm writing you. Otherwise, I would be sitting outside, listening to the rain.

How fabulous! Too bad there aren't pictures to immortalize the memory :-) I wish I could have been there to sit on the step and eat juicy mangoes while locked out with you!
