Grand Canyon

I promised photos and here are a few, many fewer than I actually took, but a start. My photos don't capture the shear enormity of the place, but this is an attempt. And there are many other better photos of the place, but none with Daddy and me in them

It really is Grand!

See, we really were there.

I don't know why I chose to have pop-ups. Sorry. Here, this is a mere portion of what it looks like.

My attempt to be arty.
More Later. Miss Marple is on.

(The more things change, the more they stay the same.)

I wasn't there- but I think these photos DO express that this thing/place is gigantic!

I like the arty one (and the huge, gigantic massive one, too).

Love you,
Mara

p.s. the doc put me on some steroids for a brief cycle (10 days) in the hopes of calming what is most likely a very inflamed membrane surrounding my brain so that, as Mark puts it, I can 'reboot'. We also borrowed a friends car and packed up most of our artwork and some other small things from our old flat and started the rest of the move over to our new one. I wouldn't say I feel fantastic, but it does reduce the stress level - and I have only just taken the first dosage of the prednisone.

Steroids can do wonderful things, but must be used with caution. I'm glad you feel a bit better already.

I'm sorry that I've not posted on your blog of late. I meant to post on it when you first posted but then Kristen and I were moving. Now, we're at our new apartment and the internet has been on the fritz. Andrew was here for the weekend and couldn't solve the problem for us. He basically said that he thought the problem was between the wall and the CEO of AOL/Time Warner (curse AOL/TW! They're evil. Pure evil!).

Anyhow, Kristen and I also have pics of the Canyon. Kristen took most of them and so she posted them. I wanted to post the one I took that was advertising beer at the gas pump. Someone tell me how that is not advocating drinking and driving?

They could just be selling beer at the convenience store - not to drink right away, but to take with you and drink later. Just like every store you have to drive to to buy beer.

Laugh at my joke, life is funnier that way. Anyway, the beer was being advertised at the pump. Though, I imagine, you probably still had to go inside to actually get the beer. It was an odd pairing of markets filling up the tank for a long drive (it was in the middle of nowhere). I imagine that it would be like trying to sell a car to 16 year old, unwise and unsafe.

I am still in awe of how beeeg this canyon is. I guess you can say it is vasty. I am hearing of my children in the trhoes of moving. Such is early married life. Being settled feels real good after you have to try to cart kids all over the place. We'll see how things contiinue on.....Heigh ho movers! I will never forget my experience there, ever.....

It is unclear that it was a joke. Dry humor is hard to detect via blog. It is also a comment we've all heard growing up - so it sounds like a repeated commentary/complaint.

commentary, complaint, joke, it's all three. It might be a little annoying but still a very valid argument. Alcohol and other psychogenic toxins are involved in far too many tragedies to downplay their role.

Aren't these lovely photos? Ready for some more?
