The House is Quiet

The house is quiet . . .

the guests are gone, the leftovers have all been eaten, the bedding is washed and the beds are freshly made. The family is gone. The house is so, so very quiet.

Wow, your leftovers are gone?

I think Mark and I have at least 2 more dinners of turkey... and we had a dinner with 4 friends the day after Thanksgiving as well... and that's all we've been eating since Friday... wow. Did you take them to work or something?

And our house is so not clean... that'll have to wait another week when my final dance performance is over. This time it's a Kazak waltz.

We had the Day of the Covenant at our house the next day and served our (and everyone else's) leftovers for pot luck. Donna made these Jamaican yams with coconut milk, lime juice and cayenne that were superb. Cindy made a really good pumpkin pie. You know how I feel about pumpkin pie, but this was exceptional. I'll post the recipe, if you like. Then we had Rae and Eric and Mensch eating on the leftovers. And occasionally Andrew. We finished off the last of them Sunday night. And just because the sheets are restored clean to the beds doesn't actually mean that the house is clean. Now I have to put the extra china away and try to find all the important clutter that Mendon hid from view to prepare for the day itself.
