Blogs up.
And the comments are fixed. The site even counts the number of comments correctly.
The backend is working smoothly and the interface looks clean.
I'll be dropping a selection of cascading style sheets into dornbrook.com for folks who want to use them; take a trip over to MovableStyle and pick out one you want. Email me to let me know which one you want, and I'll apply it to your blog.
It's been an exhausting week, all of it from the blogs. God help the spammers should I ever meet one. I wouldn't be able to control myself. Really.
Pure evil: DMA I don't know how these guys sleep at night.
Anyway, I'm not sleeping at night either, because I'm here, making the blogs go.
Finally, a thanks to Mendon, Mara, Rachael and my parents, all of whom have blogs and who were patient and supportive the whole time, especially while I was grumbling and swearing and throwing things.
I also owe some thanks and apology to Roddy and Marc. Roddy moved out this past Thursday and is now in Rome, growing grapes in some kind of semi-retirement. Marc moved in on Thursday, two hours after Roddy moved out. Both of them had to put up with brooding, dark-eyed moodiness while the blogs were being rebuilt, in some cases from scratch.

what appeared as patinece was in reality the ridiculous truth that I was locked outof my house this weekend!

What!?!! You MUST say more! What happened?
And, Nae, I'm not sure how you interpret my constant, silly, little, meaningless, colorful posts as patience. But thank you for seeing it that way. I am glad to be back.

RAE!?!?! What? Ditto - you've totally got to explain!

Hey, I don't know why but you're cursing and sending me moody emails really brightened my days. So long as you don't get long winded and accusatory towards me i think that they probably always will. It kind of makes me think about my response to the "Fleshlight" on maman's blog. Way over reacted.
As for spammers, if you ever meet one, control yourself. Follow him/her home. Then call me and I can get in on the action too. I'm sure that, while pappa doesn't spend too much time on the blogs, he would be willing to offer us the saying, "stuff him in his shoes!"
P.s. Maman, get DSL.

Nae! Can you apply your ant technology to spammers?!? They seem sort of akin, don't you think? (Our communal kitchen here at work has become overrun with ants again. And yet people insist on leaving sweet and starchy foods out on the counter. We have our own counter-culture here -- if food is left on the counter, it is intended for sharing. I put the remainer of yesterday's bagels in the fridge to make the area less interesting to the ants, but no one will eat them because they are not on the counter. Can you send me the link to your treatise on ant elimination? Not only was it too funny for words, but it sounded effective, too!)
Mensch? "Fleshlight"? On MY blog?!?!? Did I miss something?

It was something that, let's just all agree, you wouldn't want to see. It was a spammer. Nathan carefully deleted it.
oh ha ha! counter culture. Oh you are awful. and, speaking of disgusting infestations, culture was a pun too!

Oh, okay -- nothing I am responsible for.

Back to the grey look, I see. Dunno.

Somehow it just doesn't feel like The Definite Article I remember . . . . Maybe I should hug a tree or something? ;)

I've ordered DSL and it should be up (but maybe not running) Monday March 21. A good way to start the new year. But . . . I have to get an ethernet card (the one we had went to Miami with Mensch) and there may be a hook up lag on our end. I'm not sure what I have to do to make this happen yet. I really would like to get it up by next Monday.
I think we will be changing email accounts too, because we really don't like Juno anymore at all. I'm sure that we will have a lot to choose from. Daddy has a Lakeland student account that he barely is aware that he has. We both have our Dornbrook.com accounts, but Daddy has never been there and I have managed to screw mine up somehow, have forgotten the new password that Eric gave me that never worked anyway and now I am too embarrassed to write to him again and ask for a new one because it will make me look like what I am -- a middle-aged technically incompetent woman.

Well, my gmail offers still stand.

Oh Ma!! good news! If you have DSL then we can call eachother for free on Skype and it will sound fantastic!! Once you get DSL go to Skype.coma nd dwonload it. You will also need to get headphones for the computer.
To those inquring about my lockout...here's what happened. Eric was away on a trip. My door cannot be closed without locking. I forgot to grab my keys friday morning on my way to school. Hence I was locked out. Last time I got locked out I climbed in through a window-essentially showing the entire neighborhood how to break into my home. If you recall I still freak out that we'll get broken into- so I locked my windows. The locksmith wanted $125 to unlock my door- no way! So I had Eric mail me the key and it all worked out okay.
