Further Progress
I'm knitting again! And this time, it ain't a scarf! I'm starting small and simple, but really, how long could I hold out when living with my mother - a knitting fiend? So, here is the beginnings of a sweater for the baby:
In other news, I thought perhaps it was time for another belly shot now that I'm finally wearing maternity clothes, so, for your viewing pleasure:
On a side note, the painting on the wall was done by one of my French ancestors. His parents weren't exactly very encouraging, so he signed his paintings "Iwill" (and of course pronounced it "ee-wheel", which is how we still refer to him).

Mara! So good to see photos of you (and little Fojas) and your new project. I look forward to seeing the sweater! I finally decided to branch out from scarves, too, which is all I've made thus far (unless you count the thumb-less mitten disaster of '03). I'm attempting a pair of slippers and am trying to decipher the pattern. We'll see what comes of it. Lots of love and prayers floating across the ocean to you, Mark and the little one.
love, Anjali

Anjali, so nice to see you here! Having an experienced knitter around is exceedingly helpful for the deciphering of patterns. Alternatively, knitty.com has a handy reference to knitting shorthand - of course, if you don't know what "knit two together" means, deciphering 'k2tog' doesn't help much - and that's one of the easier ones!

I actually was saying to Sandy Saturday night that I was kicking myself for not getting a belly shot of you at the "pre-birthday party"! :) You look so happy!
