First, we'll start with the up close shot:

And then to this funky shot that to me looks like my child is sticking it's butt out at the camera:

And conclude with me fully dressed:

I was talking to a woman whose baby is three 1/2 months old. Her baby was a week 'overdue' and so they did a C-section. I asked her about it and she said- no one ever talks about it but it hurts. She said that it's like a major surgery and the doctors - afterwards- said she should expect it to hurt until six months afterwards. Now that information that women should have access to before the emergency comes along.

Oh, honey, there is SO much they don't tell you beforehand. I've had women say to me, "well, I don't want to scare you, so I won't say anything" and I'm thinking, "what? you think I'm gonna' quit or something? Decide that is not for me?" I'd rather know!

I agree. Knowing ahead of time makes life slightly less stressful- and I'm the kind of person who freezes in a bad situation. So having information ahead of time is useful/powerful.

Yes, I am like both of you. Or vice versa. Doesn't matter. I read as much as I could before even getting pregnant. I knew from the time I was 17 and saw a PBS special featuring a live birth that I wanted to have natural childbirth. The Lamaze classes were very helpful and informative about what would be going on with your body. That was actually the whole premise of the Lamaze movement, was to inform and empower women to make informed decisions about their labor and delivery. (I feel rather passionately about this; can you tell?)

Lamaze empowered men too and I for one wouldn't have missed any of your births. Each was different in a special way and I am certain Mommy remembers each birth with intense recall. It is a miracle you know....

And truly amazing!

You are making such progress! You look terrific!

How are you digging life in actual maternity clothes? Aren't they weird?

You know, merseydotes, although I've started wearing maternity tops - mostly for their length - I'm still not really in maternity clothes yet, especially pants. The above are some yoga pants (the sweater is yonks years old). It's actually kind of frustrating. Maternity pants are STILL loose, but any "regular" pants simply do not fit any more. Give me a week or two, hopefully :-)
