I did it!

Knitting Olympic.jpg

This is my Knitting Olympic Sweater. It isn't as cute as I would have liked, but at least now I have figured out how this pattern goes together. It is quite the feat of engineering.

I love it, I love it, I love it! I think it is so cute - am I right in remembering those buttons as being purchased a long, long time ago? :-) Cute buttons, too.

Actually, Daddy and I went out and bought the buttons on Sunday afternoon -- not a minute too soon! I didn't even look in my stash. Bad me.

What makes it a Knitting Olympic Sweater, instead of a knit sweater?

And how big is it? It looks like it should be for an itty bitty baby.

I Love it!!!!! i want Mara to be pregnant!! This is so so so so so very cute!!!!

It is rather small. I thought it would be a bit bigger. What makes it Olympic Knitting is that a) it was a bit of a challenge (I am currently challenge challenged) and b) it was started after the torch was lit and finished before the torch was extinguished.
The most amazing thing about this sweater is that it was knit all in one piece, all lumpy, not flat at all. As I was knitting, I had no idea how it would all fit together to make a sweater. But it did.

I like it too. It's funny- I also thought the buttons were familiar. Lovely.

Watch, I'll look in my stash of buttons and find them there!

Congrats on your olympic victory...are you going to post your gold medal?

The sweater looks great, I think I remember one of the gals a Mason-Dixon Knitting doing one a while back, and it was an interesting looking puzzle. I like the buttons you chose too!

I don't know how to post the medal. I'll try. It was the sweater at Mason Dixon that inspired me to try it.

Do I get to see this when we're back in a few days? I think it's fabulous. It does look rather complex, by the way. I also like the way the stitches that turn the corners stretch a little bit; I don't know why, but it appeals to me. Awesome pattern choice and final product. :) Oh, and I like the buttons, too.
