death

My mother passed away at approximately 2 am this morning.

It was very peaceful. We washed her body with rose water and sewed a silk shroud around her body. It is a beautiful tradition that gave us all a calm feeling as we were struggling to fathom the reality of our loss.

Yes, it is a beautiful burial ritual which cleanses more than the body by participating. I will always have it clearly in my visual memory the rest of my life. Thank you Rae for your brilliant and tender service to Mama in these last two weeks. You were wonderful.

Rae, I'm so sorry about your Maman. She was a wonderful lady, and I cherish her socks and the moments I spent with her over the summer. And with you, too!

I wish, with all of my heart, that I could've been there to help and support you all.

However, if you ever need to unleash a ferocious a rant, or have a good cry / laugh, I'm here for you and your family to listen and be loving.

Lots of love,

Ingrida

P.S.: I have dubbed the earrings you gave me "lucky", because when I wear them things (ie events, conversations, thoughts, feelings etc) seem to flow much better than usual. They're beautiful, too; thank you so much!

Thank you both for your comments.

I would like to thnkx for the efforts you've put in writing this website. I'm hoping the same high-grade web site post from you in the upcoming as well. In fact your creative writing abilities has encouraged me to get my own website now. Really the blogging is spreading its wings fast. Your write up is a great example of it.
