Apple Picking

Some of the EPP* gals and I went apple picking on a farm South of the city. We picked Jonagold and Empire apples. I made applesauce and an apple pie with a whole wheat crust. We used my mother's canning supplies to preserve some peaches from the farm, which we made into peach butter and peach jam . It was a lovely weekend activity.

I'm glad you found jars. I think it's so funny that we happened to go apple picking on the same day! I made a tarte tatin, which is like an apple dumpling as pie (you only cut the apples in half). Yum! I can't wait to make more stuff with our apples!

Oooh! I am soooooooooooooooo jealous!
Maybe you'll save some for me?

Of course! We can have it on toast, we can serve it with a roast; in a box, with a fox; in my house (no mouse allowed!)
