The Edinburgh Festival
August is a fabulous month to live in Edinburgh.
Edinburgh, normally a city of 450,000, swells to a mighty 2 million. There are over 5,000 shows - dance, theatre, opera, the Tattoo and comedy. In order to watch them all you'd need four years without sleep.
Edinburgh is also the month that the Swedes came to town.
A villian that possesses the power to move metal objects with his mind is a supervillian.
A hero who can fly and has X-Ray vision is a superhero.
People who are neither heroes nor villians, but who have powers far above and beyond the powers of normal people, who can sway men's minds, turn a party into a Partaaaaay!!, inspire toplessness in random women and incite an entire club to near riot status are just bloody dangerous.
Anna Skoog and Jessica Andersson are just bloody dangerous.
What nefarious scheme are they planning?
Something devious, I assure you.
No, really, run while you still can.

Wait. Which one is Jessica and which one is Anna? Also, I'm not familiar with the month of Edinburgh. And, furthermore, wish that you wwere home for that brief moment after maman had seen this as she reacted to it. It was priceless:)
The little brother bids Adieu! Today is the last day i live at home this summer.

Ha ha! Jessi is on the right and Anna is on the left.
I wish I'd seen Maman's reaction, too. Wait 'til I get brave enough to put up more pictures! Hee hee!
Ange is visiting now, and we're just about to go out and about. More to come!

Wait! Last day at home? Where are you going? Does school start soon?

Yes. Today (sunday) our intrepid adventurers embark on yet another journey into the great wilds of University life. Join Marty Stauffer this week as he explores the alluring, the voluptuous, if not insincere and often hostile environment of the wild college female.

Right, as if the environment of the wild college male is any less treacherous for the college female to experience.

Nae,
My reaction was something on the order of . . . "Nae's having way too much fun." I think so, anyway. As in "I think that was my reaction", not "I think Nathan is having too much fun." This is bad. Do I have to edit all my reactions for fear that they will be broadcast instantly? Not to be defensive, but in a sincerely contempletative way.

Oh, Maman!
It's all in good fun! You should feel free to have your reactions and then defend them as vigorously or as quietly as you like. Or not at all, if you prefer.
Ange is over now, and there are a ton of Anna & Jessi photos to process and post, and dozens of African friend pictures, and a lot of discussion that I want to have with my siblings, because I kinda need some help getting out of a sticky situation and they'll know what to do.
Also, I need to call you and Chris and Karl and Bj and my Bank and the police (to get my shotgun certificate) and need to do my UK taxes and take care of my council tax and sort out my condo agency and it's a bit overwhelming. Then I have my actual job to do.
Anyway, I'm sure I'll speak to you soon.

I'm grinning ear to ear! Give me a call anytime on skype. I've gone over my minutes so only call my cell if it's Friday or after 9pm in DC.
