We're all home now, except for Rachael and Eric. This realization got me to thinking about how much I regret not bringing my GW hoody home this weekend. So now, I'm loafing in my wool sweater, instead. Thinking about my hoody got me to thinking about the pajama pants that I'm wearing, a comfortably flannel pair, representing CWRU. These were both given to me by my beloved sister, Rachael. Then it dawned on me that she is primarily responsible for my loafing outfit.
She is also responsible for some of my board games, my tea, my DVDs , my music collection, and hours of regular good conversation. Granted, my other siblings have been equally generous, but I feel as though I've been not grateful enough for how wonderful my sister is. Rae, here's to you, you're an awesome sister and just as wonderful a friend. I really appreciate you and value you, your friendship, and our relationship. I wish that you were home, too.
Here's a great picture of my sister with her typical mid-summer muggy day frizzy hair with my mother ('cause I don't have a more recent one!)
You are looking for a more recent mother? I feel like the mother in Mother, Mother, I Want Another.
Posted by: Ma at January 26, 2007 8:36 AMheehee. Mensch, I almost asked you earlier when I read your blog if you really wanted a more recent mother. Then I decided not to. Glad I'm not the only one who found humor in your comments. Of course, I think phrases like "dyslexic atheists are afraid of dogs" are funny, so I usually wonder if it IS actually funny, or if it's was just something that only I would find funny - glad I'm not alone! :) See you ALL next month!
Posted by: Crystal at January 26, 2007 4:21 PMI appreciate your comments but in all grammatical respects the noun to which "it" refers to is, technically, a "picture of my sister with her typical mid-summer muggy day frizzy hair with my mother."
Posted by: Mara at January 26, 2007 5:13 PMThanks! I try to remember that even though you are married- you are still a college student (or were until last month).

Hey! I just realized - those are my socks Maman was knitting in that picture!
Posted by: The Real Mara at January 26, 2007 10:44 PMI assumed the comment was from MEnsch. I didn't even look at the author till you pointed it out:)
Mensch- I have really been enjoying the CD you sent me. The more I listen the more I like it.
