the twenty-eighth

sorry, I forgot to blog and, honestly, I can't remember what I was going to say.

There was going to be imagery involving the whore of Babylon but I can't remember what I was going to say. White Noise, station wagons... something like that...Leon Uris, The Hajj.

As for Rae's comment about going partying. I can't even be sarcastic towards her implication that I too want to get stinking drunk at a loser freshman boozer. I think I'm too sick. I don't feel well and am going to go bed early tonight. eleven, on a saturday night! wow.

good night one and all.

We (I) really
1. don't care about pithy statements about Babylon all that much.
2. would like to hear how the whole college experience is going, how are your classes, who are your professors, etc. Food, schedule, that kind of stuff.
3. Hope you feel better soon. Is it that first week of school nasty cold you always get?

I'm not sick in the cold sense. I was sick in the, stomach ache sense. My classes are ok. I really like my psych class (duh). I'm not too enthusiastic about chem or chem lab. my microbiology class is ok too. my american spiritualities class is kickin butt, and i'm taking names. oh, those poor children. my professors are all pretty normal sub-urbanite looking people with roughly sub-urbanite attitudes. nothing interesting. the food is greasy and i usually eat breakfast (a hearty one) and then scavenge for the rest of the day and find whatever healthy stuff that i can. i met the other bahai on campus and apparently there's a bahai from somewhere else coming to miami. that makes three of us.
generally, it's college. no, generally, it's living away from home. specifically, it's college. my attitudes, values, beliefs, etc... are pretty much ahead of the pack and I know what I want as of right now so the 'new' mentality isn't exactly what i have. life is fun and relatively fulfilling and i have the sooty article up on my door.

I have no idea what Sooty Article is. (Who Sooty is? Am I getting closer?) anyone want to fill me in? Is it an internet thing?

Lately my peers have made statments commenting on how OLD they are/feel. I am currently the 'baby' of my classmates in the GW ed. program, but even in college I was always thinking...yes, I'm finally here. I'm the age I've always wanted to be. I used to play '16', and Barbies were another form of playing in the 'grown up ' world.
Last Saturday I helped Lauren carry all the stuff we got at IKEA back to her dorm. Oh, the age difference was remarkable! I heard this 17 year old girl talking about her fake I.D. and I just pretended to cover my ears. Everybody laughed...but there you have it... last year I was taking classes w/ freshman and undergrads and this year I am just so totally not in the same world!

1. I think the "sooty" article is about the gerbil or hamster or whatever that got into the females cage and had a night of...well...fun.

2. Rae, yeah, I know what you mean. You move on and you're just in a different phase of your life. A good one. A stable one. A feel good fun one. I love being past that age - I love where I am right now!
