New Year's Resolution
My new year's resolution, if you want to call it that, was that I this is the year I would focus on regaining my health. Okay, it wasn't much of an option, but I guess I was admitting that this needed to be done and that I would submit to it and not, you know, gripe about all the doctors appointments.
Well, this is what you get when you submit to the doctors appointments.
I have to have my gall bladder removed.
My first surgery ever.
However, this is to address the nausea and abdominal pain I've had ever since, well, really, ever since I got pregnant. Having put up with that - worsening - over the past two years, this will be a welcome change. I'm not thrilled about the surgery, but I'm relieved to know there is a solution and that it will come soon. I meet with the surgeon on Friday, at which point I imagine we'll set a date.

If we are having new year's resolves, then mine is to have less sadness this year. I am glad you can fix your discomfort. I am sorry you have been so uncomfortable since Liam's birth. But I am so happy you had Liam in time for Mommy to get to know him. I am willing to bet both she and Mimi are never away from his side, ever. I believe it is why his French is so endearing. Why else would he pick that book off the shelf so often? Are any of you skiers? I am thinking of taking up cross country for its healthy workout. But I'm not sure it is a sport to start when one is sixty. Yeah, I am. Sometimes it feels very like it too.

Gall bladder surgery is pretty minor. I've got a fellow on my caseload going in for gall bladder surgery. Typical recovery time is one to less than one day in the hospital. About 1 in 20 have to have a more complicated procedure and stay a few more days. The saddest thing is that you won't be able to eat chamise anymore.
Papa, you're at a great point in your life to take up cross country skiing! Seriously, people's stamina and ability to pace themselves increases as they get older so long as they stay healthy!

Hope the meeting with your surgeon goes well and you have the op sooner rather than later.
Will keep you in my prayers. M x
