Halloween

For Halloween, Liam and I went with a bunch of other kids and parents to a nearby nursing home to visit with the residents, give them candy and wish them a happy Halloween. Not sure most people got our African/Caribbean theme, but I took off his socks and everyone loved up his toes (and hence not his hands and face!).

On a feeding note, I finally broke down and bought some liquid formula to add to rice cereal - and it works! He eats it. I know, I know, I hate formula, but it works and it means he's getting some iron, since I am so not being good about getting him his supplements. I guess my parenting philosophy so far is "whatever's easiest".

omg we LOOOVE it!!!!!!!!! omg omg omg. Hope you guys will be in Mentor oh say somewhere around Christmas!! If not, I guess I'll survive, but it won't be easy!

Wait, what happened to Yoda? Please!?! And I love! the video. I've played it for everyone.

And that was the one time I would pump, for Nathan's rice cereal. I think that was part of the reason I waited until the rest of you were older and I could dispense with that before feeding you solid food. It was a bit of a pain.

Ma, the formula lasted two days. Now he, literally, GAGS on it. GAGS. So much for that. Geesh. Whatever. So we're back to: here, chew on a carrot. Or not.

Maybe you could mix that yuckyterriblewhywouldanyonewanttoeatit rice cereal with fruit juice? Or not. Try a cooked carrot. It's softer. He might actually get some.

Mara, don't feel bad about giving him formula. I couldn't breastfeed Adib as long as I did Bella, but honestly, I'm so pleased that he is not so attached to me phisically as Bella, and he sleeps really well in his crib with a pacifier. I believe that children benefit a lot from breast milk but I also believe that it's important to quit at the right time before they start using Mom as a paci and often end up sleeping by her side instead of baby crib. I don't know which theory you feel is right for you and Liam, but do whatever you motherly instinct tells you and besides, formulas nowadays are pretty good. You can try lactose-free or soy based if you think he has problems with digesting a regular one. He is so adorable, good job guys!
