Mother and Daughter
While my parents were here, our friend Nancy took some wonderful portraits of myself and my mother for a photo class she was taking. Here are some of my favorites. However, I still don't see a similarity so stunning that you can immediately tell we're mother and daughter.
I'm editing [by adding the one below]: I think this one is actually my favorite, although the first one I like for more artistic statement type reasons. If I had to title it, I think I'd title it Eye Am.

These pictures are something to cherish. I'm not going to say anything about the resemblance of the people featured...But what beautiful portraits....Thank you for posting them!

ok, so here's where my complaints really come in. I like the interaction of our online conversations via our comments.
It feels like i've lost the chorus of my family that was so active on here. Now, it seems that Nathan is as scarce as he is in Mentor and that I'm not communicating with my siblings. It makes me sad to not have that link.
Remember a story that maman tells about me when I was punished. She would put me on the sewing bench and i'd have a time out there. I'd come to the edge of the bench, as close as possible to the nearest social interaction and wait, yearning to be a part of it. I feel a little bit like that now only i'm not being punished. I miss you guys.
Sorry Mara, I like your blog to make these posts.

Mensch, I tried for about 20 minutes last night (3pm your time) to call you ... busy, busy, busy. So, you're being social with someone...
I'll try again tonight...

Mensch, Darling, I love you. You are preaching to the choir here. Think about it. You are saying (to those who read and comment) that you don't hear from us! *We* talk to you and interact! Address the ones you miss -- directly. And Mara, Rae and I will keep up our end by commenting and writing. By the way, I had a nice long (2.5 hours) chat with Kristen and realized that I hadn't talked to you for a very long time (2 weeks).
Mara, funny. I had picked others as my favorites. Watch my site for those, or maybe that one. I can't remember. Kisses. I'm going to call you in about 1.5 hours. A bientot.

3:00? i was being social, but not on the phone. I wasn't here and it's likely that my room mate wasn't either. sorry. the number's 529-2582.
I was at a Red Grammar concert yesterday: ) It was funny, he started doing "Places in the World" and there I am singing along, he stopped the song to ask me about it. I am such a dork! (actually, there was a whole section of young adults having lots of fun).
The best part about the conference was afterward. Kristen and I waited for him after the concert (he was interacting with his loving fans) and approached him. We introduced oursleves as the officers of the Miami University Baha'i Club, which is a recent phenomenon, and asked him to leave a message for one of the Baha'is on campus who was an extroadinary girl, loves Red's music, is a voice major, is blind, is in a wheelchair, and is off at another university this weekend promoting a diversity program! He sang her a song on the message, kristen and I shed a few tears on the spot, it was beautiful!

How sweet! Yeah, Erin is an amazing young woman. I knew her family both from when they'd occasionally come up to Cleveland and while I was at Mount Union (her family is around Canton).
