It's raining so hard in Chicago right now that it's hailing. Dime sized hail is falling, in June! It sounds like my roof is going to fall in on me (a very real fear!), see last June.
At the same time, I can see clear skies to the south. It sort of makes me concerned about a tornado except that there are no gale force winds. Strange. This is probably not going to be good for the region's flooded areas.
Posted by Mendon at June 22, 2008 6:29 PMI am glad you are safe and your roof is not falling. I understand the sound of hail on the roof being very threatening. Mommy and I experienced a similar thing on our metal roof at Hill Cove the West Falkands. We ended up hugging each other with Nathan in the middle of a front hallway in our house hoping the house wouldn't cave in or blast apart in the storm.

It seems a fitting metaphor that we had such a temperamental storm that day. Now, as we grieve, we're all asking ourselves what's going to happen with regards to rent and where we're living.
Posted by: Mendon at June 25, 2008 12:24 AMI am very sorry about your landlord. Especially as he was a caring person as you have said. I am sad for his family too. It is too close to home these days when other cancer patients die.
