Just to update everyone. I'm tired. I want a job that doesn't drain most of my energy during the day.
Sleep, now, kay, bye.
Posted by Mendon at October 19, 2007 8:57 PMGood luck.
Posted by: Mara at October 20, 2007 8:41 AMOh, and also, I want a local store that carries a cast iron griddle. I'm tired of making pancakes on non-stick calphalon pans!
Posted by: Mendon at October 20, 2007 9:06 PMActually, you want a cast aluminum griddle. Much better heat distribution and no rust issues.
About the whole job thing. I think every job has aspects of the drain thing going on. It has more to do with, okay, my day is done and am I satisfied with what I spent my energy on. See the comments on Rae's blog about the energy drain of parenting. But it is totally worth it.
Posted by: ma at October 21, 2007 9:36 AMWelcome to the real world kiddo. You'll get used to it. Focus on the positive aspects of the job and the clients who are happy to see you. Oh and isn't it nice to be able to pay the bills. . .
XO
I thought the purpose of work is to "drain" or let me rephrase it, "release" your potential energy. So maybe you should seek a job that releases the proper type of energy. Ever consider applying to Google? There's actually a place for bright young psych majors up there.
Hang in there, man.
