I've been pretty much dead on the blogs for the last few months. Let me be honest, I'm getting burned out looking for jobs. Apply, apply, apply, no call backs, no emails, nothing. It's a bit discouraging. Fortunately, there is hope. Kristen has an interview for a luthier position at a violin shop in Chicago. She's good which means that she may be able to get a job out there, which will help us actually get out to Chicago, which I think will make looking for a job easier for me. Not because applying online will be any simpler but because I have a network in Chicago of friends who do already have jobs. Many of the people in this network simply need to be met. By which I mean, I already know a great many people who are doing well for themselves and have connections from the Cleveland area that are now living in the Chicago area that I haven't been able to meet up with yet.
So, it's a matter of keeping on keeping on, if you know what I mean. Blech, the joblessness is killing me.
Posted by Mendon at May 20, 2007 8:52 PMThe initial "real job" search totally sucks. Patience, don't be afraid to take a crap job while you look, and wait for the right job.
