This sword has been brought to you today by the letter "I" and the Jewel of Judgement.
Did you miss it?
She really was that smug. In the end of the story her character ends up becoming the King.
But, unfortunately, the really bad guy (we were all a little bad) destroyed the universe and recreated it as he saw fit. So Kristen was, ultimately, denied the throne.
Do you two have too much time on your hands?!? Or just too much fun? And when do you sleep?
I do love you! Really, I do! See you soon.

My children in the backyard know just when to play,
I'll call them in from frollicks when the food is done.
And so another day has ended ere the fun is gone.
Come Dartanyon, we are saving the King!!!!!
I've heard of "live action role play," but I've never done it. It sounds kind of fun though! :)

Posted by: Rae at June 14, 2006 6:54 AMDo you roll dice and whatnot in LARP? Or do you actually swing swords and someone adjudicates the battles?

Apparently, depending on the L.A.R.P. that you are engaged in, those are the two extremes. The gaming system that we played did not rely on statistics to determine outcomes. Rather, outcomes were determined based on skill ranks and player creativity/effectiveness. GMs moderated conflicts. The props were just for show and to denote ownership (i.e. someone stole the stone from me in the middle of game, and I gave them the stone). We described what we were going to do and then the GMs determined the outcome for us without having to swing swords or roll dice.
