Wow!

Yasser Arafat is dead and Bush is getting rid of Ashcroft. Who knew what the world's coming to.

Initially, when I heard that Ashcroft was leaving, I was glad. Then I stopped and thought, 'But who is going to replace him?' Then I was afraid. I sort of feel the same way, but less so, with Arafat. I think Arafat was a bad steward for his people and a different leader could have possibly made a big difference. Then, as I look back over history, I get discouraged and feel like there will never be a time of peace and justice for all mankind. This may be why I cling stubbornly to my Faith. It is the only thing that gives me hope in the face of the facts.
Much Love,
Maman
I just finished a stupid book (almost 900 pages!) for book club that was supposed to cover 22,000 years of 'history' in England. And it wasn't even well written. Enough to depress anyone. And I have a rotten cold (Did I catch it from Nae? One of those computer viruses.)
